Mimi’s was founded by two Aussies, Amber & Saul, who share a deep love for food and hospitality. When we moved to New York, we realized something we loved back home was missing - that easygoing café vibe where you could kick your feet up, laugh with friends, meet new people and stay a while. We missed the Aussie sense of freshness; a light, feel-good treat that satisfies your craving without the heaviness. So we set out to recreate that feeling of Australia, right here in NYC.
Our Yogurt
We took a year to perfect our Frozen Yogurt recipes, using fresh ingredients and real purees. All of our yogurt is made using non-fat Greek yogurt, skim milk, and a small amount of cane sugar.
For our fruit flavors, we use 100% Real Fruit Puree. The Raspberry is sourced from Oregon and the Alphonso Mango is from India. The matcha is sourced directly from Japan and is ceremonial grade, in collaboration with our friends at Blank Street Coffee. The Vanilla is made with real vanilla bean, and the chocolate contains the highest quality Guittard chocolate.
All of our yogurt is naturally low in fat as the base (milk & yogurt are non-fat/low-fat), made with real sugar (no high-fructose corn syrup or palm oil), and always prepared with care.
Our Toppings
We source our fruit locally and seasonally through Natoora, the same supplier trusted by Michelin-starred restaurants. Natoora works directly with growers who prioritize flavor, seasonality, and sustainability, so the fruit is always the best of what’s in season.
Other toppings include Medjool dates sourced from California, best in class cookie dough and brownies, pistachio sauce from Italy, Guittard chocolate chips, Swedish candy and lots more!
Our Vibe
There's a warm sunlight that finds its way into Mimi's every afternoon, soft and golden. It gives everything a little glow, like the city itself paused to take a breath. Walking into Mimi's feels a little like stepping into a pocket of sunshine on a New York street. The tables are tucked close together, not by accident, because we like the hum of conversation, the way strangers end up talking, the unspoken sense that everyone's sharing something simple, yet delicious. There's always a bit of laughter, a bit of chaos, and a lot of joy.
Mimi's was never meant to be perfect; we built it with our hands in one month, it's meant to feel alive and real. The yogurt is light and smooth, the music drifts somewhere between nostalgic and new, and the space holds all kinds of people; friends catching up, first dates, someone quietly reading at the corner table. It's small, but it's got heart. We built it to feel human; a little messy, a little magical, the kind of place where you can show up exactly as you are and still feel part of
MIMI'S NYC
